Okay, whenever I build the Death Star in EaW (no expansion) and I move it to an enemy planet that's already blockaded by my fleet, I try to move it to the "Destroy Planet" slot. However every single time, without fail, the game will freeze. The music keeps going, but nothing moves or works and my mouse is stuck on the hand icon. I have a couple other friends who just bought EaW, and they have this same problem. As I said, it's not just a freak glitch, it happens consistently. Shouldn't Petroglyph have addressed an issue this big by now?!

I've never had this problem. Have you downloaded any mods or other software that may make this happen?

Nope. It's a clean install of 1.05 from the Best of PC collection.

A file might have been corrupted when downloading it. Try unistalling then reinstalling the patch.

Nope... I waited for a few minutes and nothing happened. And like I said, it's the "Best of PC" version, so it installs with 1.05. Is there a movie it plays when you blow up a planet? Maybe it got screwed up during installation so it can't play the movie. Anyway, I'll try reinstalling the game.

Okay, things just got a lot worse. I was halfway through reinstalling, and I got a blue screen of death. It flashed by real fast, and then my computer restarted itself. Now there's no trace of the game on my system; I checked for shortcuts, in Program Files, and the system registry, but nothing's there. The problem is that when I put in the disc, it says the game is installed (when I click it, nothing happens, obviously). If I hit uninstall, the uninstaller starts up and then says "Could not find CDKEY.EXE" and closes. What am I supposed to do?

Something is really messed up on your computer. Not sure if it would help but maybe try a virus scan.

Okay, apparently is WAS in the system registry, it just wasn't showing up in the Add/Remove Programs list. I went into the game disc and did a manual setup, so it's good now.

However... I still can't get the Death Star to work. Interestingly enough, after some experimenting I've discovered that it only freezes on key Rebellion bases... Hoth and Alderaan, for example. Also, I tried to use the Death Star to destroy Yavin 4 during a tactical battle, and it froze. Between this and the annoying favor for the Rebels, does Petroglyph just hate Empire? :(

This is weird, maybe Petroglyph was trying to make it do something different at those locations and it either doesn't work, or your computer isn't good enough.
