is anybody else having trouble running ANY mods with windows vista as their operating system? the only mod i've been able to run has been FRGCW. before my old computer crashed, i had the petroglyph launcher running properly with several mods installed. now i can't even get the launcher to run, much less any of the mods. my new computer has 64bit vista as the operating system. changing the compatability mode does nothing. i am quite certain i have installed them correctly- they all worked fine for XP. are the mods not compatible with vista?

You have to do more with Vista(at first). You have to be the Admin account for one. Two, its better if you turn off the UAC(under control panel). Third, you will need to mess with the security settings for the mods and mod launcher(right click>properties>security tab). If thats not it then it could possibly be that you have 64 bit and not 32 bit. I've seen problems before with 64bit that don't happen with 32bit. And I think its perferred that you have a 32bit system for gaming.

are the mods not compatible with vista?

Its impossible for them not to be.;)

you should be able to as i have vista(i hate it by the way) and once you change all the permissions you can paste stuff oh and what ever you do make sure you are the administrator cause if your not you can not do anything. PS dont bother making other accounts cause i tried it and trust me its not worth the time, effert,or end resolt

Vista isn't horrible, it's xp just all shiny and things are in secret folders. the only complaint i have is the UAC which you can turn off. otherwise it runs my games great and has everything i need. i love vista than xp, it's the same thing but better.

it must be the 64 bit incompatibility then, because i still can't get anything to work. all i can manage to get is some little black message box that doesn't stay up long enough for me to read what it says. as far as messing with the security settings, everything seems to have permission already. i turned off the UAC a while ago.

ok, i've figured it out, you need to download the PetroLauncher 2.0, and use the version of the launcher that's in the x86 folder you extract from the zip, there are two versions, 32 and 64 bit, but they're in the wrong folders, the 64 bit version is in the 32 bit (x86) folder, and the 32 bit version is in the x64 folder.

Just make sure your mods are in the following folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Lucasarts\Star Wars Empire At War Forces of Corruption\Mods, the launcher also needs to be there.

I'm on a 64 bit vista and running FoC with mods perfectly, all you have to really do is do what the Assimilator said, modpaths. put them there and make ye old batch IN COMPATIBILITY MODE WITH XP and there you go :)
