I just got a comp with Windows 7 and have been installing my Star Wars games. However, when I started up EaW, I got all the sound perfectly, but no video. All I got was a screen that blinked black and grey. Please tell me there's a way to fix this.

Well Pyreball i got my new comp a few months ago also with windows 7 and EAW works just fine. I just wonder if you are trying to run the original program or a mod. Cause when you are trying to run a mod keep in mind that the modlaunchers you used on windows xp will not work at windows 7. You need to install the alternative modlauncher wich can be found in the list of all the other tools. Also keep in mind that EAW runs at 32 bits per second and windows 7 runs at 64 bits per second. So i hope you installed the game NOT in the program files but in the program files(86x). Otherwise it will probably not work right. As you probably guessed Program Files(86x) is for programs that work at 32 bits per second. While the normal Program Files is for programs that work at 64 bits per second.

I did install it to the x86 folder. I'm not trying to run a mod, but I'm also not using the original version. The version I have is the one that came with the Star Wars Best of PC collection. I don't know that that should make a difference, though. At least two of the games in that collection have worked just fine for me. However, it's about the only thing I've been see that it could be.

I am also having an install problem that I hope someone can help me with. I am running Win 7 on a laptop. When I try to install EAW from the original disc the install starts but reaches the following point and just stops: C:\...\Data\Audio\SFX\SFX2D_English.MEG I thought it was a Win 7 incompatability issue so i tried on another laptop that is still running XP and got the same result. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am running the 1.0 version and it works just fine.

I guess I'll just have to find the stand alone version and see what happens. I've been asking for help on other sites and a lot of other people are having issues with various games from the Best of Star Wars PC collection where others will be running the same game without a problem.
