2 skinning questions for a newbe! (Even if you don't know pleas answere with a "don't know")

1. How do I get my Icon of my character to show up in the character select screen in multiplayer? I know it works cause when I use my model (typing "model ryan" in the console) the icon is up in the right hand courner. The name of the icon is "icon_default.jpg". And icon_blue with blue and icon_red with red. It is in the models/players/ryan folder.

2. How do I get my costum made sound to work with my model? In the "animsounds.cfg" I have typed in both "sounds\chars\ryan\misc m" and "chars\ryan\misc m" That is where all my sounds are. Insted it goes to the deffult.

I hope someone can help.

1.) simply change the icon jpegs to reflect the pic of your skin. then append the name of your skin to the file's name. If your skin is called fred, then they would look like this. icon_default_fred.jpg icon_red_fred.jpg icon_blue_fred.jpg

2.)i'll get back to ya on this one.

It dosn't work. I rename it to "icon_default_ryan.jpg" and "icon_default_Ryan.jpg" neither one works. I still can't see it in the multiplayer select screen and then when I bring it up through the console the image in the upper left hand courner is gone. I have an idea though if any body want's to try and fix this and the sound give me your E-Mail address and I will send the .pk3 file to you. Ok?

File is to big to send I guess. Do you have AIM or can you think of any other way to get it to you?

replace the .jpg with your own model representing jpg, make sure the image size is the same  duh, then save it as icon_default.jpg, pack it up and chuck it in your base folder and it works

the size of the jpg should be the same as the original jpg, open the original one, go to image -> image size then check the measurements and resize the thing you wanna use as icon to the same size
