Hey all. I love JKII. It's one of my most favourite games. But there are many things that bug me about gameplay and the level of realism in the game. I have a lot of things that I want to change, and Modding is the way to go, but I have neither the necessary skills nor the resources to make my own mods. My first future mod involves the muzzle velocity of blaster weapons like the Bryar pistol and E-11. The fact that the blast does not reach the target instantaneously bugs the living daylights out of me. It's impossible to land a shot on a moving target! Is there a way to fix this? If anyone out there can make me a mod, or explain how I might fix this problem using the console, I'd very much appreciate it. I have more future mods that I want to make, so if you're interested in some challenges or just little projects, stay tuned :) thanks

I don't know how do do that, but when you watch Star Wars they are not instantaneous. Though, they are faster than they are in JKA.
Hey all. I love JKII.

Psst, different game.

I'm not familiar with any lugormod/japlus style code mods for JKII, so if you can't do it in the console, sit yourself down with the SDK, a quick setup guide and some popcorn.

Changing the speed of the bullets should be pretty easy - just find the code for each gun, find the speed calculations and change them to go faster. If you have problems, use trial and error.

Sorry I can't point you to any JKII resources...I only just obtained the game recently.

:Puzzled: I don't really know what to think on the realism. Sabering is a tad more balanced but that's all that comes to my mind....

Mods are mind boggling with emotes and admin commands. If only a JA mod was built that did the same thing.

Plenty of tuts. out there and some people are always willing to help you out if you get stumped.

I don't know about JK2, but the JKA SDK actually comes with a short semi-tutorial on modifying the code, and the example they use is actually adjusting the speed of a projectile, so I recommend looking there first.

But if it isn't clear yet, this will involve coding.

XMOD and redslushie mod already have a good ammount of cvars to control bullet speed / damage. if you want to do it yourself though (as i did), its all in g_weapon.c

Well, to be honest, there really isnt much realism in star wars to begin with... Who says blaster rifles have to go super slow or super fast? I don't see laser beams being used in america's army... What i'm saying is if you want realism, then the only thing that makes it more real is the mod user's opinion.

Thanks guys. Btw, what's JKA SDK and how do I get a hold of it?

someone mentioned something about "g_weapons.c". Can you clarify this? I've played around with some command lists in the SP consol and I've not seen that code

to Posezion:

yeah you're right about those things you said about realism. It's sci-fi - who's thinking about the realism in it? hehehe :D

But when something is not realistic or just plain inconvenient - like slow blaster fire - it annoys me. It'd be really good if I can make my own mods to satisfy my hunger for realism - I know how I like it, so I can make it that way.

thanks again for the advice guys
