I was just wondering if its possible to make a full screen effect for jedi knight 2. A good example of a full screen effect would be "night vision"
If possible how could it be done?
Sorry about the double post, I think it might be possible to modify the user interface, hud.menu to give this effect? Or is there any way of creating some type of new UI?
Isn't there an item in the game already that allows for seeing in the dark? Although the screen get smaller because of the item..
Maybe if you used that item (the name of it escapes me atm) and modified the image files, and possibly a .cfg file here and there?
Sorry i should explain it a bit more clearly. Ok im working with version 1.02, Im working with multiplayer not single player. I'm looking into changing the hud, but I dont want to just change the textures, I want to perhaps reposition and completely redesign the hud. I've tried deleting the hud.menu file and the hud is still present within jk2 "i deleted it from assets1", this means its not the correct file for modifying the jk2 multplayer hud.
Oh, I work with neither 1.02 or multiplayer modding, so I would not know where that particular asset would be located. My guess (remember, only a guess) is that the HUD images like the health, force, etc. would not be one big image. Maybe it is a small image for each one positioned someplace in the source (which we do not have) or in a .cfg file (which we do have). Either way, this would not get the effect you want.
The only way I see this working is if you somehow manage to get some sort of filter effect from an image or shader by way of HUD images.
I would help locate the file, but I know nothing about multiplayer and I do not have version 1.02. However, I do know the basics that apply everywhere, no matter what version. What you are looking for is most likely a shader file.
I've done it! www.Jtbrown.co.uk • View topic - Screen Crosshairs (Download) I had to use the crosshair, change cg_crosshairsize and you can change the screen effect by selecting cg_drawcrosshair 5,6,7,8.

Congratulations. I didn't expect that to work out!
I didn't even think that you might be able to do that..
