I've been trying to fix the secret_apprentice_HK model for single player to help myself learn a bit more about modding.

Anyway I got it working so it shows in the single player menu and I can enter the game with him, however

the lightsaber blade does not show up nor can I hit anything, although the hilt of the weapon works fine with the model as well as sounds. I figured something was wrong with the model, but the model works fine as well as the lightsaber when playing on multiplayer but not singleplayer? Does anyone know what the culprit could be? I have no clue from my searching.

are you sure you added it to all the right UI menu's. not only the strings or the ext_data?

edit:

eh crap, didn't noticed this was the JKII section...

erm... are you sure you didn't post this in the wrong section, your story seems very jk3-ish, I mean with the sp menu and such.

oh sorry i guess i posted in the wrong area. it is JA3. ill answer though, as far as I know I have put all the right strings, what I did was copy and see what other single player models had in their pk3's, took them and replaced the names. The models hows up in single player fine, the name and everything as well on the menu, still no lightsaber though.

and what about the .sab file, there is an option in the .sab file to turn off the saber blade; noBlade 1

perhaps you used that option in your .sab file?

(btw some mod, move this or something)

ya i was looking at that, but i havent messed with the saber blade? all other models have working sabers on single player but this one? Is there some file tying what saber file is used to the model?

That is the .sab file what I was talking about. .sab files are kinda the config files for sabers in jka.

im not sure what to change there if thats the problem. I even tried deleting every saber file with Nosaberblade (whatever it is) set to true and still nothing.

Just fill in the right stuff and I guess it should work, better look at the other pk3's what saber name they have used and how that saber name is connected to the UI and Strings.

single player models dont come with a saber file, so im confused. it just picks whatever saber you choose in the begining of the game

Open assets1 in pakscape, open the ext_data folder, than the folder called 'sabers'

You will find some files with the extension .sab

that are the .sab files, you need to make .sab to get your saber into game properly...

(I'm somewhat losing where this is going too.)
