Hi, I need a hand with a slight problem I'm having! I have a not so legitimate copy of JKII with the no cd patch installed! I've made many maps before for Quake 3 and now for JK2. I am wondering how to load my maps into the patch multiplayer version of JK2. Help if ya can! So far I try to load them like quake (eg. JKII\GameData\Start-MP-103.exe +devmap map_name) but it keeps giving me a please insert games CD!!! Any help would be greatly appriciated (ie. all my maps and models will come here for testing and suggestion) Thanks in advance ColdStar...
The CD Crack for JK2 does not work... at all ;)..
Myself, and four friends of mine have been using it for the past month to play single and multiplayer lan (Not Internet) with no problem at all. It's just when trying to load a custom that problems arise! Any ideas!
Just thought I'd update my own post! Figured out how to load the maps and mods with my patched version of JKII!!! To run mods I have to make sure the mod is in PK3 format in the [JKII]\base\[ModName] directory, then run patched Multi player, load Mod, create server :p For Maps, its a bit more work! :( First make a fake directory where ever... make 3 dirs called levelshots, maps, scripts (might not need levelshots, but what the hey)... put a [mapname].tga image in the levelshots dir... a [mapname].bsp map from JKIIRadiant in the maps dir... and a [mapname].arena script in the scripts dir. Zip the 3 dirs together :naughty: change extension to .pk3, place in base dir. Run game and select map (I'll let everyone figure out the .arena files for yourselves) that's the Loooooonnnnnggggg, and the short of it! :smokin: ColdStar
uhh yea... that's the basic pk3 file for a map.. ??? hehe I thought since you were a Q3 mapper you might already know all that but anyways the system is kinda different in JK2. Arena files can be simple but yes it can be lenghty :D
Exit, you have no idea about what I'm talkin about do you! Download the patch and see what I mean! Do you even know how to code at all!!!! Been C/C++ coding for a long time, the mapping is a side thing! Please only reply to post's you have a clue about :)
I guess I don't get what it is you're talking about then ;)
