i have made a map for jk2 but i dont know how to put it into multiplayer so people can download it :confused:

1) Compile your map.

2) Once your happy with it, locate the maps folder in your gamedata/base directory.

3) Create another folder called "maps".

3) Put the .bsp file into the "maps" folder.

4) Create a file called levelshots and place one picture in .jpg format into the file (preferably a reasonable size). This will be the picture you shall see on the loading screen.

5) Create yet another folder called "scripts".

6) Create a .txt file a paste the following into it:

{ map "Mymapname" longname "My map name with spaces" fraglimit 20 type "ffa" }

You must edit these in order for it to show up correctly. The following is an explanation of each command written above:

map = The name of your .bsp file. Just do not include .bsp at the end. longname = Check out ffa bespin, when it loads, it's long name is "FFA bespin" whereas it's shortname is ffa_bespin. fraglimit = This is optional. type = Gametypes the map will show under. Seperate with a space.

Once you have edited the script, save to the text file and rename the file to "yourbspfilename.arena". Yes, thats right, edit it to the name of your bsp file.

7) Place the arena file into the scripts folder.

Now, if you have any custom textures, create a folder called "textures". Place any custom textures and their directories into this folder.

Now, if you have made any bot routes, create a file called "botroutes" and drag the .wnt file from gamedata/base/botroutes into the botroutes folder you created. The reason you create another one is because you may have several other bot route files in there.

8) Create a ZIP file.

Finally, place all of the folders you created into a .zip file. Now rename the ZIP file to ".pk3". Place into gamedata/base and select your map from the MP map select!

P.S. You don't have to use a level image. You don't need the textures, the botroutes or shaders at all. These are all optional.
