Thanks to AutoCept's easy to follow tutorial on how to create npcs without replacing old ones im now able to create a small mod that adds some of the popular starwars character models in jk2files.com in single player.
The problems Im having though is the npcs usually have the E-11 blaster rifle or lightsaber models shows up between the crotches of the npc. Also any npcs with the lightsaber dont hold it correctly and the lightsaber model just shows up in their body submerged and not moving. Also the new npcs do not dismember at all but they do If you follow the method for replacing characters. Any solutions?
Oh btw if I was to put this file on jk2 files.com would I have to contact all the authors of the original models to see If I can get permission to have them in the mod and credit them in the readme file?

Are you loading a saved game, because that could be the problem. And for the credit, yes, unless the readme file says something else.
Im testing the models by using the devmap command and then going to the pit level I have managed to get several of the most downloaded models in single player by usage of the npc command. so far I have added these independant ones (that dont replace other npcs apart from tavion and perhaps desann) Dont forget the gun and lightsaber models still show up in the wrong places for all models.
Wookie=Shows up fine R2d2, R5D2 and Protocol (C3PO) now follow and assist you in battle Gammorean=shows up fine and is scaled to the right size :) Kitfisto=shows up fine Clonetrooper=shows up fine Gungan=shows up fine jarjar=shows up fine missing texture on gauntlets though Yoda=shows up fine and is scaled up to the right size :) Jawa=Shows up fine and is scaled up to the right size :) old Ben kenobi= some problems with it showing in game Macewindu= some problems with textures showing up in game DarthVader= replaces tavion to get the lightsaber to fit in the hand The emperor= Will replace desann but I have not tested it yet
Over the next couple of days I will add in more npcs and maybe I will upload it to JK2files.com :)(If I get permission and positive feedback

You will have to credit them in the readme no matter what.
If the readme file says you can use it for anything then just use it and credit them in the readme else you must contact and get permission off them and thank them in the readme.
P.S. If you want i could test it and see if the texture probs are something to do with the models or something to do with your jk2 game
I could check and see if there are any missing files cause i have most of those models anyway.
I hope you fix all of your problems.;)

I can help you fix Old Ben, since I have put him in my small Original Trilogy mod two days ago.
Just add the line
surfOff "l_arm_robe r_arm_robe head_hood hips_robe head_hood torso_robed torso_robe torso_robe_hooded"
under the npc in npc.cfg
I will email the authors of all the models tomorrow. Then I will give them credit in a readme file of some kind and I will "try" to post a beta of the little mini mod Im making if I get negative feedback off the people that download it (they should'nt do because this is the first mod I have seen that actually adds npcs instead of replacing them) then I will stop working on the mod. If I get positive feedback off the people that do download (I hope so) Then I will continue to add some of the other popular starwars characters Oh also Im trying to make some of the friendly nps interactive. by means of pressing a button to get the to say things. So far I have jarjar binks saying 2 or 3 things and hansolo saying 2 things. the wookie says things as well :)
P.S this the first mod Im making and attempting to post on JK2files.com:)
