How do i open my assetsPk files? Will i be able to edit the music on ceertain levels once im in, and put in m,y own music? Until the source code comes out for SP, is it possible to replace voices in cutscenes with wavs? Is it possible to change the scale or height of the characters so he fits the size you want

Yes but the problem is that i turn it into winzip file and then when i unzip it its a word editor, so cant get in the files, thats why i need to know the file format or type to turn my assets files into, so when i zip unzip them they will work
k still not sure i understand you completely. When you double click on Assets0.pk3, winzip will open. Then click the extract button on the toolbar and a dialog shows up with options. choose all files, use folder names. Then at the top enter the path you want to extract the files to. Now the files that are extracted are various formats, some are glm for models, some are cfg or skin that can be opened with wordpad, some are md3 which are also models which can be opened with milkshape or gmax etc. ibi's are compiled script files. jpg files can be opened with photoshop or your windows pic viewer.
For example a skinner would open the assets file, extract the files that have a path of models/players/jeditrainer. then use photoshop to open the trainer_face.jpg and draw a beard on him. Then he would use winzip to put all these files back into an archive and name it what he wants, e.g. myskin.zip, then chang the extension to pk3. and throw it in the base folder.
now to change sounds in the maps included with the game, if you want, look in the folder where you extracted the assets0.pk3. look in the sounds/ambience folder to find the sound you want to change, add yours under the same name and pak it. for example
unpak the sounds/ambiance/kejim folder, replace one of the sounds. pak up this sounds folder and name it mysounds.zip, change the extension to pk3 and put it in the base folder. Your sound should play in place of the original sound i believe. I've never tried it though but i'm pretty sure that's how you would do it.

how do you change the taunts of the characters example kyle. i know how to do it right i did it before but the problem is that is says MP3ERR: Source file is not sampled @ 44100! (file: sound/chars/kyle/taunt1 MP3 i mean even though i got it from a galactic battle grounds website it should work its a mp3 so why doesnt it work please someone help me
any sounds you use in the quake engine have to be sampled at 44(.1) megahertz and in mono, not stereo, 8 or 16 bit is fine. So that sound you have won't work.

some sound editor programs might be able to do that; i'd check download.com for mp3 editors, and do a goodle search for sound editor or mp3 editor forums and ask there. I myself would probably try to resample it. just play the sound with windows media player maybe and at the same time record it. I use acoustica, $20 shareware works good for me.

not sure if its a typo but is there such thing as a "wat program" or are you talking about those "splash screens" that pop up when you start a software program. for that go to tek-tips.com and post in the appropriate forum
hey i found it its a program that records anything that can play on your computer. its called MciRecorder and its $20 share ware. it can convert wav to mp3 too woohooo glad i found it hate to leave ya hangin
