okay, i'm modeling something using 3dsmax, and in the perspective viewport, i have my model, obviously. but the problem is, i can hardly see it. like only half of an ngon shows up like its pretty much transperate and i can see inside it. it does this when i render it as well. when i arc it, the opposite side on which i'm viewing it is the side that shows up. i've never really had this problem before and was wondering what it is and how it can fix it. basically what i'm asking is... how can i make my shapes solid so i can view it properly?

flip your normals. sounds like your problem is you are looking at the reverse side of your polygons (the transparent effect), if you flip your normals everything should work out. does this only happen for lathe or lofting or for everything? also you can try adding a material and check the 2-sided box at the top under your material spheres

ahhh thank you thank you thank you! i was getting really frustrated. :) the 2-sided check box worked. this will make modeling 10x easier now.

and when i flipped my normals, i believe it altered my polygons a bit. i just tried it out and didn't look too close.

ANOTHER QUESTION: :-)

that worked all fine and dandy, but some sides still aren't covered completely... i believe it's when there's another shape inside it. it doesn't bother me that much but it would be a great help.

okkkkkkkkkkkkay, another question.this is something i have no idea where to begin to explain... the picture would best describe the situation that i've come across. when i save my file as a .md3, and then view it in md3view, sometimes a shape will go on the fritz and shoot across the screen. it's fine in 3dsmax, but once i try to view in md3view, a piece of my model just gets stretched across the screen and i have no idea what is causing it. this happened to me once before so i just deleted it and left it alone. also, when i do try to redo the piece that goes nuts (redo as in deleting the piece and then recreating it from scratch), it still shows up the same way in md3view. i'm not sure if i'm making myself clear or not, but if you know what's going on, PLEASE HELP ME!!!
