First; which game you're having problem with? Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy? :Puzzled: I'm confused because of the thread title and the fact you posted this in the Jedi Outcast section.

Now for a possible solution. Go to your Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy/GameData (or Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcats/GameData) folder. Find jasp.exe and jamp.exe (or jk2sp.exe and jk2mp.exe) files, right click on them, go to Compatibility tab and do the following:

  • enable Compatibility mode and set it for Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
  • disable Desktop Composition
  • enable running with Administrative priviledge
  • click Ok and try running the game (run it directly from the .exe file)

If the game still won't work, perhaps you need to update your graphic drivers or revert to some older version. What graphic card do you have? Are you getting some error message when trying to start the game and if so, what does the error say?
