I created a server.cfg file and created a windows shortcut to launch my own server. However when I try launching the server the console stops after this message:
Hitch warning: 27762994 msec frame time Resolving 220.127.116.11 18.104.22.168 resolved to 22.214.171.124:28060 Sending heartbeat to 126.96.36.199 Resolving 188.8.131.52 184.108.40.206 resolved to 220.127.116.11:28060 Sending heartbeat to 18.104.22.168 Resolving 22.214.171.124 126.96.36.199 resolved to 188.8.131.52:28060 Sending heartbeat to 184.108.40.206 Hitch warning: 938 msec frame time Hitch warning: 18661 msec frame time
The IP addresses are the ones for raven, gamespy, and msnzone so my server will appear on theirs lists. But I don't understand why the console just stops after that message appears, anyway I can fix it? Thanks.
Fix what? Its supposed to do this
So is the server launched when it stops at that?
After it got to that point I launched JK2 multiplayer on the same computer and the server didn't appear on the internet list. It is on the local and has the UDP thing next to the name. I set the "dedicated" thing to 2, but it's still only local. How do I make it connect to the internet?
Run it as internet dedicated and make sure your ports are open if you use a router. You should see ur server in local, but you can use a program like ASE or gamespy to see if ur serv is online.
The port I have it set to is 28070, the source I got most of my help in creating the server told me to set it to this. How do I check what port my router is set to? Or if I don't have a router what port? I only checked on the JK2 multiplayer game to see if my server was up because that's where I want to have it.
Can anyone help me out here please?
YOU CANT see your own server in the list, because it is you! Use a program like ASE to find it! As for the router.. IF you have a router some type routers BLOCK the traffic between other compu's etc.. also deactive a firewall or allow the connection on those ports
So even though I run the JK2 multiplayer program in a separate window I still can't see my server online, just on local? Well I'll try the ASE then, but what does it stand for because it comes up with a bunch of things non-related to this.
Basicly.. the main server sends you all IP's who are listed servers that are NOT your own. If you run the server on your same computer, its local, same network, local, different network (neighbors?) internet. Ase sees all
