Hey everyone. I have a really irritating problem, and I really hope someone can help me.

Its a pretty weird problem, so I try to describe it carefully. One of my favorite multiplayer servers in JK2 (version 1.04) sometimes disappears from my server list in a LONG time (months), and then one day suddenly appears again. While its gone from my list, I cant connect to it with the /connect command, it just keeps staying at Awaiting Connection... I have the nessecary ports in my router opened too, but to no help.

The most weird is, that others can connect to it just fine... Im appearently the only that cant see or connect to it. When I search the servers IP on google, I can find its current playerlist, and see its online (see: http://www.gamersearch.net/sei/project/index.php?Search_Addr=84.16.234.42%3A1337&action=process&mode=detail&language=de ).

The servers IP: 84.16.234.42:1337 Anyone who want to, can try connect to it, and tell if you can. So my question is: Why am i the only one not able to see it? I got some wrong router settings?

Man, I really hoped that wouldent happen... I dont think I will get any help in here, cause its nearly dead. :( I posted in the main Tech thread because its much more active, and I tried to make this a non-game specific question, which I think it is. Any chance it can be moved back, just until someone answers, then you can move or delete it. Thanks.

He has no direct moderating power here. And unfortunately, I have no idea why you are having your problem, thus, I have no idea how to fix it.

Do you any antivirus or firewall software on your computer?

The port is weird, for starters. No server should ever need to use any port other than default, since using odd ports has been known to cause connection issues for people even if they're not using routers.

Ask the server administrator to get that fixed.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

The server has used that port since it started, and I have been able to play on it before, for a very long time, with and without my router. Then when it "disappears" as it has now, and if im playing on it while it happens, i completely lag up, and get Connection Interrupted until i quit the server (like it happens when the host closes the server while your on it), and then its nowhere to be found again.

But when I check up its IP after it happened, its online and got players on it... I also ask people on servers if they can connect, and they can just fine.

And I have no clue who the host is, he is never on the server, he never say anything or do anything (like kick players for example)... its like a ghost server.

This is VERY weird, and VERY irritating... :o

The only firewall software I have, is the Windows firewall, which is turned off. I have Kaspersky as antivirus, but is also turned off. But I have been able to play on the server with Kaspersky AND firewall running, so I definately dont think thats the problem.
