I have this weird problem that i havent heard of in the forums before:

I installed the game, and eventually i deleted it. Instead of using the uninstall option, i deleted the folders, shortcuts, and start menu options that had to do with jk2.

I later tried to install jk2 again on my system, but the autorun menu does not have the install option because it thinks i still have the game installed. I tried to "remove program" on the add/remove program list and it says that jk2 is installed and is taking up 4.8 megabytes. I clicked on remove program and it says that all components have been uninstalled, but jk2 remains on the installed programs list.

This means I CANT install the game, because my computer thinks its still on! jk2.exe isnt even on my hard drive! Does anyone know what I can do?

normally when you do that thing in add/remove program you can choose delete file from software thing if it does not exist and then it will delete a registry of it or something and then you'll probably be able to play, otherwise you're gonna have reformat

but seriously if that add remove stuff don't work then try to go through your programfiles folder (where you installed it) something should be there, and otherwise use your search option to search for jk2 stuff

I've tried all of that already, there's still SOMETHING thats telling my comp that jk2 is still on. Is there any way i can get it to install without using autorun?

normally you can ext the auto installer, then browse to the cd drive in windows, open it and there should be a file there that triggers the install, i don't know what it's called though

I have the same problem, i cant play because it says that it cant find the jk2mp.exe file and i need to reinstall to fix the problem. But when i go to uninstall the game it says that installshield wizard cant find the uninstall file.

You may have to edit it out of the registry.

Start --> Run --> regedit

Search for "LucasArts", or "JK2" or "Jedi". What it finds, make sure it is a Jedi Knight II item, pay close attention, if you have any other Star Wars games installed.

The other thing, would be to search your "Program Files" folder, and remove the Install Shield record, for JK2.

Mine is here C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{8681B1E6-CD96-46EF-9065-CE0D1085ED99}

Internet Explorer Friendly Link version. file:///C:/Program Files/InstallShield Installation Information/{8681B1E6-CD96-46EF-9065-CE0D1085ED99}

dark sith200Same exact thing dude.

Might I inquire as to what you are refering? :confused:

If you have the same problem, as,... Syphon666, uropb, and CorpseGrinder, then have you tried my above solution? Or do I need to create an easier to understand version?
