Hello to all JK clans out there. I'm Drahcir one of the admins and founder of the newly established Jedi Knights Clan Nation. Right now we are in the recruiting stages and we're looking for great JK clans to come and register for the JKCN. Clans that become members of the JKCN, will likely have a leg up on recruitement and will be able to talk with people and clans from all over the JK world. We are open to all JK clans. The purpose of the JKCN and my dream for it is this. My hope is that the JKCN will help to pull the JK communtity together and let people from many different clans meet. There are sections on the forums for clan leaders to discuss topics. There are sections for clans to form alliances. There is a section for setting up multi-clan battles and tournements, and much much more. Our hope for the Jedi Knights Clan Nation is that it will help to pull good JK clans together and we hope it will be a great tool for meeting new people and crossing clan boundaries.

We think, and our sincere hope is that clans that join the JKCN will benefit greatly from being part of this community. We also have a listing of all registered clans. This will allow people who aren't part of a clan, to maybe go and find a clan they like. So the JKCN should be a useful recruitment tool as well.

The admin and moderators, although we are members of various clans, are committed to being impartial towards particular clans. So if you're a clan leader and you want to join this great new community just register for the forums and fill out a registration form and post it in a new thread.:)

Here's the url for now: www.happysnowfish.net/jkc

Thanks for your thoughts, but I think most people are a bit more optimistic about the Jedi Knights Clan Nation.

It's actually working. So far in the 5 days we've been running, we have 38 members, 650 posts, and 7 clans. Two of the clans we have are quite large. TeamWookiee from JK2 with 500+ forum members and The Jawa Clan from JKA with 400 forum members have joined. Another thing I want to make clear is that the JKCN is not only open to clans, it is open to any individual that plays Jedi Knights. So far all of the people that have joined think it's the best thing since swiss cheese:D . But yeah seriously, we're just starting out and we'd love it if you stopped by to say hello. And maybe...just maybe you'll like what you see.:) Give it a try! www.happysnowfish.net/jkc (temporary url)

Both of you who said that it won't work...

The only reason it wouldn't work is people like you, leaving it for dead before it begins. It can't hurt signing up and giving it a chance, so why not? If this is a success, it'll be a good tool for the Jedi Knight community, but with people like you damning it before it gets a chance to show it's potential are ruining the JK community.

All we're asking is that you sign up and post a bit, it can't hurt.

Thanks! :)

times got a point, of course it wont work with you pessimests running around. if people dont give it a chance then it will never launch. but i believe that this thing is a great idea. its almost like these filefront forums, its just tuned more toward clans and clan members. its like the UN, just a neutral ground for gamers to discuss and hang out. i strongly advise all of you to join the forums and help us out. Im Sirhc from the [NO] and I approve this message.:D

Forgive me for being "pessimistic", but I've seen more than enough of these. More than most of you will in your entire gaming careers, in fact. They never work, and in the JK community, the many times these have started, they've all bombed. That's partially due to them being set up badly, but it's mostly to do with the community itself. I can tell right now that you won't be an exception, because your setup is, by all practical accounts, identical to the failed setups. You either adapt or die - and your setup isn't versatile in the least. I'm not one to bitch without giving some advice, though, so my advice is this - rethink the entire thing from the ground up.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

What do you specifically mean by adapt. I'm just curious what your suggestions are. We certainly want to survive, but what are we doing that is absolutely wrong in your opinion? Please enlighten me and the other admin. As far as I can tell, we're on the right track. I can't think of anything we need to rethink. Granted we have been changing things here and there. There have been some things that needed reworking, but we've adapted as you said to make the forums a better place.:) I don't want to be defensive. I would rather be the opposite and ask you and anyone else, what your thoughts are. I think you should come check us out though Kouen before you say we're doing everything wrong. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.:)

If you think you know about how a community would run well, would you be kind enough to give us some specific tips? I'm sure, being a JK player like the rest of us here, you would like to see a successful and active community.

We're trying to value everyone's opinions here. This forum is not about the people who are setting it up, it's about the people who may someday join. I want to hear your thoughts, how you would think the community would run well. Instead of making enemies with the people who think we're going to fail, I'd like side with them, because they may hold the key to success.

Thanks! :)
