Is there an .md3 export plugin, or a method to exporting as a .md3 in any of the newer versions of 3ds Max? All I've heard is that the latest plugin isn't for 3ds Max 9/2009 or later. :/

Majority of all plugins were made for older versions. Think highest you can go up to is 3DS Max 8. Could be wrong. :clueless:

What I do is export it to MS3d, then export it as a .md3 from there. However, you may be able to get Gmax, and export the .3ds to it, then find a plugin for Gmax if you want a free solution.

I use 3d studio max 9 and what i do is i installed gmax as well and installed the gmax quake 3 md3 exporter plugin which can be found on this page then i just export my model from 3dsmax as a ".3ds" file then i can just import it into gmax and export it as an md3.

Isn't (one of) the 3dsmax md3 exporter(s) in maxscript? That means it should work in almost every version, right?
