Ok, well, i love skinning and everything, but i am a shader newb/noob x.x...ok my basic problem is....im working on a new skin, and it looks fantastic in Modview, but as soon i put it into game, the lighting/shading makes it look terrible and all of my textures go like...low-res or something...is there anyway i can possibly change this? Any help would be well appreciated

I've had this happen alot....basically the shader will almost always work in modview....and then for some reason it kills over when you put it in-game...I'm not sure why it does this but I have seen it often....I dont know if its the shader or something else...

mm no it's not the shader it the crappy Jedi Academy, as much as I like the game I can't help to hate how the game manages the textures. Every texture that you make for JA it's going to look with less quality that it originally has. Try to add details to the skin and try to add details like spec maps or other shaders so the skin could look fine.

It looks great to me in modview, the textures and the eyes look fine...but as soon as i put it in game...the dress all looks like its one blob of color, u can now see the intents in the eyes...which u cant see in modview, which takes away the effect i wanted...and the textures look all pixelated and bloby....and like i said before....i know nothing about shaders pretty much

I wasn't talking about that, I was saying that the JKA graphic engine works really bad...so to evercome this you need to add some shaders to the skin to make it look better.

Iceman those textures have little contrast between the normal colors, the shadows and lights. Try to add more details...some more defined shadows and lights and a spec map for the different parts of the body and it will look better.

well its still a WIP so i havent really added any yet, just trying to get the other textures and stuff done before hand...and spec is about the only shader that i know....i dont really know how and when to use it....the only thing i want to be able to fix is the eyes...i tried my best to make them look right with the model....but now u can see the eye indents in game x.x...so eyes are my #1 problem...i should be able to find a way to improve/fix the rest

The shading is caused by the way the eyes are modelled. Either you would need to edit the model, or maybe some sort of full-bright glow shader on the eyes so that they aren't affected by light.
