I haven't really modded anything before, but I have an idea for what seems to be an easy mod to do. I need to know what files I need to edit to change the effects of force powers in the game. I want to change the cost and duration of the force powers mostly. Any assistance would be most appreciated.
The cost and duration can be edited in the console... for effects, go into the assets1.pk3 in your base and goto GFX/EFFECTS/ and theyre in there
allright then, thanks. I guess that I could have found some tutorial somewhere.
erm.......can somebody direct me to a good console tutorial? that is, one that will tell me how to do what I want to do
allright then, if soemone can just tell me this: What command and variable would I use to set the amount of force points the player has to 0. Like, every time a player does something, the amount of force points (you know, the amount of force the player has on the HUD to the right) is set to 0

hehe I don't know if there's a good way to do that, but what most people do it use: bind f give force So whenever they hit F it fills up their force pool. Is that the kind of thing you were looking for? It would be a lot simpler than actually changing the game, which I'm not sure how to do right off the top of my head.
see, I want to do just the opposite. I want to make a command that drains your force to zero. I guess I should fill you in on the mod I have in mind. I see the force not as a numeric value that depletes when a person uses it, I see it as something the user must concentrate on to use. So I want to make all of the force powers that give effects to the player (speed, protection, absorb, seeing) drain 100% of the player's force power to use. Then, when the effect is over, 100% of force power is restored. It sounds easy, but is what I am trying to do harder than it sounds? As I said, I would like to make mods, but I have no experience. Hey, I have to start somewhere.
My first Mod made the Bryar Shoot Flames, And the E-11 water! (a kinda Element Mod) Maybe you should start with something lil less hard. But as for your question. ""_ _"" Dunno?
