I'm almost embarrassed to ask this question.

I was modeling when I realized that I have no idea how to do a polygon count...

I can go to file -> preferences and see the #of vertices and faces... but how can I do a polygon count?

any help would be hot... but keep it on the downlow, I'm still trying to pretend that I know what I'm doing. ;) :p

Polygon or poly? Polycount is the number of vertices (I believe). Try hitting "7" ;)

We all pretend we know what we're doing. I'm dumb like that, I just ask Gir on MSN instead of asking on the forums :giggle:

yeah, press 7 to get an active face count, itll change though, if your using verticies, itll change to a vertex count, if you change to edges or polygons, itll change to a polycount. remember though, it will count faces only, and not triangles. the triangle count is what you should pay attention to for game meshes.

if your certain that your only using quads or triangles, then just double your face count, and itll be somewhat accurate. if your being silly and using 5 sided faces, then you cant accurately judge your triangle count, and you need to re-learn to model =/
