Okay, I'm sure some of you may have seen my first mod on jk2files.com, which is simply a retexture of ORiON's AC Buster Sword. However, although I originally liked what I did with it, now I'm completely unsatisfied. The coloring is right, but the textures, as pointed out by Inyri, are basically paintbucketed. Here's what I'm needing: 1) First off, I want to take away the shine of the weapon. It needs to be dulled, no shiny-ness. That probably involves taking out the shader, but I want to be sure about that. 2) Also, how would I go about re-wrapping it? The textures stretch badly, and although it isn't a big problem, I would rather be able to add some of the details that were seen in the movie. Anyhow, I redid it the other day, but I wasn't pleased. I redid the handle and guard, and those look fine, but the blade...well, the cutting edge looked far too shiny. :( So, no screens yet.

To remap the UVs you'll need to load it up in the 3d software of your choice, redo the UV mapping (which depends on the software), then recompile it. Not really a difficult thing to do unless you have no idea what you're doing.

You can always make a less shiny shader, or go with a specular rather than a chrome. I never really liked Orion's shader.

Well, I've got gmax, but I have no idea how I should load the model into it...I have tried. And I like ORiON's shader for the shiny new weapons of AC, such as Kadaj's Souba, the Masamune, and so forth, but not for the Buster Sword, as it's not new in AC.

BTW, for those unfamiliar with Version 1.0:

Spoiler: Show

*spoilerized to keep the page from being over-huge* Basically, I'm trying to keep those basic colors for the blade. Right now, I'm just unsatisfied with the general effect that I ended up with. About the only part I was really happy with was the guard and materia slots...but since Version 1.0, they are now just a little darker. *groan* This sword is a pain in the ass...

Not really. I'm extremely unhappy with that version now. :(

Okay guys, here's the first shot of it. No details yet, but I'm gonna try and add some chips and cracks, maybe some rust. Also, right now, my shaders are turned off in this shot, so no metallic shine, and if I can figure out how to alter it or get rid of it, I will. I don't need it shiny. :p

Yes, though it won't be exactly like it. No idea where to begin with rewrapping it, so it won't look like it much. I'm just gonna try my best.
