I am wondering how you go about adding the torches to a map
the flame effects? or the models? since you couldmake a touch out of a brush then add fire.efx to the top or small fire, however these wiht alot of, will drain the framerate.
well I really only need two, and the wall mounted ones if that helps, and thanks for letting me know how to add the flame
Create an fx_runner where you want to place fire, and while its selected, press N. Add key 'fxFile' and value 'effects/env/fire.efx' without quotes :)

You could use models, but their FPS wasters.
I tried to make a shader for light for the torches but it didn't work any help would be nice

I have the fire efx, but I am trying to create a shader for the lighting, and it looks like a holopanel sort of thing, I would like to just have the glow
