I was messing with the "models" folder in the assets (base) and I noticed something that made me come up with an idea...

Characters such as a rancor have their own animations and movement... Their animation.cfg file of the rancor (at the directory line, on top) makes the game engine "see" that this file is for the rancor...

So I figured that MAYBE this can be done with a regular model...

As I said in a previous post of mine, imagine an Obi with his OWN stances or a Dooku with his!

I think it would be awsome...

Any ideas/knowledge you may have about the subject please post them to help... Thank you! :)

True, that can be done with regular models.

Although, there are three problems:

1) Including the full GLA for a model will boost the filesize unnecessarily. 2) If you mean each character having their own movesets, that makes the game far too unbalanced. 3) There are 22000+ frames of animation for a playermodel. I really don't think anyone's going to redo all that, and I don't blame them - I sure as hell wouldn't redo all that for every model I made.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

1) not unnecassarilly, the whole point of this would be to have own stances, so if someone cared enough (i would) they would make that sacrifice 2) good point, but i think he meant just the stance, not fighting style 3) id aboe is true than that wont be a problem, if he did mean fighting styles then yes, i dont think anyone will take the time to make new animations.. however, i dont know if this is possible, what if you only made the animations for saber moves and left everything else the way it was

I only meant the stances. Not the fighting style. I know that that would be a HELL of a work and I also know that this would make the game quite unbalanced. Just the stances. What I need to know is if it can be done...

Brilliant idea, too bad people are too lazy to do it.

That is a good idea but just say for a moment that it doesn't work, I have another idea that may be almost as good. -wait for suspense.- Ok, in the animations we have a whole bunch of anims that relate to cut scenes, so if you just replace those with your favorite stance and then add the appropriate line to the .sab file to reference the animation, you could have your own custom stance. The only down side of that is all the fighting styles will use the same 'ready stance.' But you could still have lots of stances if you didn't mind wierd cut scenes, but honestly who still watches those anyway, just skip'em.
