I have two things to ask, only the first is REALLY important, the second is just something I'd like to know if people think it'd be worth doing.

1) How would I be able to set up a trigger, where you press the button or step into the TRIGGER area, and text comes up on screen (much like MOTD). I've seen it on the JoH server and I am making a multiplayer mission level (nothing big, just for me and my friend to do a sort of Co-op game).

2) Also for the level, I want to introduce a sort of STEALTH on some of the npc's. Would if be better to trigger an NPC space when you enter an area, or to have the NPC's under a Caulked box, and the box gets triggered off so it seems like they just appear (there stealth fields turning off)(Trigger_once of course :P don't want bloody great boxes all over my map).

I've seen it on the JoH server

--- slightly off-topic --- assuming you mean the Jedi of Honor server (which runs my modified ffa3 map), you're probably talking about the message you see when you enter the 'cafe' area, am i right?

--- back on topic --- The trick is pretty simple, place a trigger_multiple (or once) in the area you want the message to appear, and link it up to a target_print, with spawnflags at 4 (PRIVATE), and have either the trigger, or the target_print fitted with a wait tag to prevent spam. also if you want to have different messages depending on whether you're entering or leaving an area, use the Angle key on the trigger

or to have the NPC's under a Caulked box

That will not work, caulked areas are not rendered, therefore anything placed inside a caulk box will be perfectly visible

Make a trigger_multiple. Make a target_print. Write in target print: Key:message value: Insert message here. If you want the message to pop if you enter somewhere then you leave the trigger. If not then you set "Player_use" on the trigger.

nr 2...I have no idea. You can make a box with textures and if you break it it will spawn an npc. Just have the npc inside the box.

The simple way is to create a trigger, connect it to a target_print, and give it these values:

Key:message

Value:your message goes here.

Edit: The other posts did not show up for some reason...hmmm.

I've ran into some trouble here >.< firstly, my message plays for about a second after the button is pressed O_O and unless you can read 50 words a second you won't be able to see it O_o, secondly can you direct me to page that tells me how to set it out in paragraphs and centered, coz it's come out on one line and most of the message is just cut off.
