Hi there. I've recently started doing some edits to the base animation.cfg file, and a few questions have been popping up over the past 3 days.

- 1 How do I add animations which only come with a specific lightsaber style, to a completely different style? I.e. adding the blue style lunge to red style, or adding a DFA for the desann style.

- 2 What is the animation where Kyle sticks his lightsaber in the door on the imperial dreadnaught level (like what Qui-Gon did in epi 1 aboard the trade federation ship) called?

- 3 JA has by default 7 lightsaber styles: 1: Blue style 2: Yellow style 3: Red style 4: Desann style 5: Tavion style 6: Dual style 7: Staff style

Is it possible to create a completely new style, by copying all the animation-lines and framesets from a default style, and changing the number in an animation line to 8 (i.e: BOTH_A1_BL_TR to BOTH_A8_BL_TR)?

An answer to either of these questions will be most appreciated.

1: No, can only be changed through coding. 2:It'll be an animation in the map folder (certain maps have their own specific animations). 3: No, Yet again, only way is through coding. Then again, I doubt you can add a style. You will have to check it out.

By coding, you mean messing about in the JA source code? A shame, seeing it's illegal. If the Kyle-anim is in the map folder, does that mean it will only work on that specific map?

No it's not, where did you get that? It's completely legal to edit and compile the portion of the MP source code that was released, seeing as it was released by Raven. =p

Which raises the question: are you talking mp or sp, sinchiss?

I actually thought none of them were distributed, but I remember now that Raven gave us all the MP source code. Is it possible to make an 8th lightsaber style and add a specific DFA to any given style, if I code it right then?

No as the animation.cfg is only telling the code where the animations are in the _humanoid.gla. You'd need to copy all the data from the animtable.h and from the code and relate it to your style.

Animtable.h? I've never seen anything like that.

It's in the JA SDK. JA SDK/codemp/cgame/animtable.h

Does anyone know exactly where to find this animation, and if it's possible to make an anim out of it to use in game? I've searched the maps folder in the assets, and all I could find were .bps files.
