Why when I import a .glm into 3dsmax does it not have any any animation? I know I'm asking a lot of questions but I've never done stuff like this.
A glm file does not have animation. You see, a model is devided to glm and gla. The glm is only the model and the gla is only the animation. That way it's a lot smaller.
You can download the original xsi files from www.lucasfiles.com It's under Jedi Academy\Tools
how do the models know how to be animated? I downloaded yoda and he didn't have a .gla file.
_humanoid.gla
It's inside models\players\_humanoid
Oh, Thanks :). I just have one more question, how does JA know which .gla to put with the .glm?
When compiling the model. I won't get into it now, as you're obviously not a modeler.
Oh, well if I opened the stormtrooper and changed it and exported it as MyModel.glm would it have animations?
No, it's a long complicated process
you might make yourself useful :p and write a small tutorial-thread in the forums about it. "you'd help to make this place a better one", like they say.
just a suggestion. i'm about to make one about textures and shaders again, too.
P.S.: hey, i just noticed your "new briar animation" on jk2files! man, i haven't seen that! that would complete my (personal) dash rendar npc mod! but unfortunately, it's for jk2.....
i know i'm asking a lot, but you might have the time doing it when u're bored...
About modeling tutorial, sorry, but as someone who never done a player model, I doubt I can write a tutorial about it...
About animations, I'm not sure how to do animations for JA, as something is probably different (like the skeleton)
