Hi, I need help with animsevents.cfg. What I want to do is to add an (efx) effect to a single animation. The question is how can I make this work ?

This is my animsevents.cfg:

UPPEREVENTS { BOTH_A3_SPECIAL AEV_EFFECT 1 force/buster.efx *blade1 0 }

LOWEREVENTS { BOTH_A3_SPECIAL AEV_EFFECT 1 force/buster.efx *blade1 0 }

What is wrong with it ? I mean.. I want this effect to be played on my sword durring the whole animation. The efx file do exist in my base folder and works fine.

- The format is: BOTH_A3_SPECIAL - name of an animation AEV_EFFECT - tells the game what kind of event this is 1 - the frame that effect is begin to play force/buster.efx - location of efx file *blade1 - part of model which the effect is played on 0 - chance to play (0 = always) Am I right ? So please help me with this, because I have no idea what I have done wrong ;] OH.. and is animsevents.cfg works in MP and JA+ ?

you're trieing to bolt an effect to a tag that's used by your sword model by modifing a file that belongs to your model

you see why this cant work ?

you can only try bolting the effect to the handtag

and still not working in my ja+ mp ;\

If you want your effect to play through the entire animation, you need to spawn it for each frame of it. JA spawns the effect off your tag and that's it. It doesn't move with the tag itself.

Yeah, the animevents file is tricky. Alright, first, try another tag, like rhand. I know you've been told this already, but I'm not sure playing effects off a cap has ever worked. Second, if you're using custom textures for your effect, make sure your shaders are set up correctly. Third, if it still doesn't work, try it with a base effect, like level 1 lightning. If it works, then your effect is the problem.

The right hand tag is named rhand. Try again.
