Hey, I was wondering if it's possible to make it so explosions randomly explode around the map, like on star wars battlefront, but for jk3, I'm making a war like map, and I was also wondering if it's possible to make it so that random lasers are flying in the sky?

For the first question, I think it's possible. I'm pretty sure I have seen a map here and there that has had that, although I'm not entirely sure if it was random placement or not. As for the second question, no clue.

Place an effect entity wherever you want an explosion to happen, then set a timer for it. Now, don't ask me how to specificly do that since I've never had too, but just be warned, the timer starts for each explosion the second the map loads so set them all for different times for a more realistic approach.

Actually, Authuran, I'm pretty sure there are even better ways. Although I think Seto's the man for this, because he knows a lot more about entity abuse than I do.

Best way to do random explosions would be a trigger_lightningstrike. Check the GTK Radiant entity window description for the details, but basically once you draw the trigger brush-model and specify the efx file, it will be fired off randomly anywhere within the trigger space, so it should suit your needs just fine.

What if it's for SP? It's not a Multiplayer map.

Oh silly SP... I don't know why they couldn't have just used the same ent set for both :uhm:...

I think you have no choice but to place a bunch of fx_runners, then probably if you set the delay value high enough and add a random value to each, you should get what you're looking for.
