Just wondering does Blender work for JKA models?? Because one of my teachers uses it and he might be able to teach me about it and how to use it. Also wondering whats the "easiest" jka modeling program to use (if its 3dsmax I might find a way to get it).

blender cant export to any of the file types that JA uses. no such thing as easy to use, you just try something and you like it and use it, what others like you might not.

I don't like Blender. I tried to like it and gave it a few tries over the years but I just can't get into it. It is free and it is powerful. If you have the patience to learn the interface you might enjoy it. If you're looking for modeling software that's easy to use, Silo is easy and extremely fast, Modo is nice and very intuitive. These aren't free by the way.

If we're talking about making player models, some people made their meshes in Milkshape and had someone finish it for them with 3ds max.

see thats just an opinion you have, where i could live the rest of my life happy to never touch ms3d or 3ds max ever again. if you want a free fast program, just try out XSI mod tools, it can do everything you need to get a player model in game.

that wouldnt help because to compile player models and vehicles you have to export to .xsi and assimilate creates the glm and gla files based on the XSI files information.

Blender can do .md3s, .ases and .glms (sabers/weapons, but not player models. Don't know about vehicles.)

It's the format that is important, not the object properties [gun, saber or vehicle].

I would think Milkshape would be more flexible.

Better yet, Maya. I think that's what the original models were made with, version 3 or something.

EXACTLY, because it needs to export to .xsi to do player models and vehicles, theyre compiled similarly. no model goes straight to glm, even weapons need to be sent out as md3 first and through md3view.

the original models were made with a combination of 3ds max and Softimage|XSI, Maya was not used.
