Hi there, I was wondering if any1 knew if the opensource program Blender would be possible to use for your guys modeling. Blender can export to allot of formats.
Yes, it does. I made a sword model in Blender, exported to .md3, imported into GMax, exported as .md3 again (with tags for saber) and then UV mapped. :)
So I can make models in blender, nice! but how about the UV I kinda need to use baked normalmap and baked AO map if u want a low polly count and nice looking stuff.. O_o

Wait, why'd you export it twice?
Couldn't you have gone straight to Radiant from Blender?
I exported to .md3 so I could use the .md3 importer in Gmax. That way I could get it into Gmax as one solid object. Then, I added the tags and reexported it in Gmax to .md3. It now worked ingame, but no UV map so then I uv mapped it and saved. :)
I can't get Blender UV maps to work, they never save properly. I will figure it out at some point.
Also this is for a weapon, not Radiant.
