The idea is an SP mod That allows you to use your own charecter in this mod (any custom player model if you can get it to appear in the charecter selection screen) and play this mod. The mod is as follows:

You are a bounty hunter making your way in the Star Wars universe. You come to the city Hovakmor on the planet lucia prime to find work and employers. While in Hovakmor, you can travel the city and talk to different people who will offer jobs in exchange for weapons/vehicles/information (because there is no money/use for money in JA). After completing certain missions, you will then be appraoched by seperate groups wanting you to join thier clans (bounty hunter clans, jedi, imperial, ect) based on the missions you choose to perform and how you perform them. By the end of the mod, you will either end up a jedi, in a bounty hunter clan, an imperial soldier, rebel or working solo for any of the said groups. Now being limited and non-RPG friendly as JA is, I thought of some ways to bypass this:

Because there is no way to make detailed conversations with npc's, all conversations would have to be scripted and/or cutscenes. Also, if an npc offers a job there has to be a way to accept or decline the job. Because thier is no "accept" or "decine" pop-up option, There would have to be a way to accept the mission, this would be through "change map entities", for instance: You talk to bob and offers you a job in exchange for det packs(you start the game with only a pistol and limited ammo) but the job cannot be completed because you would need a swoop to get there. So you look for a guy who offers a swoop in exchange for a hit on someone in tatooine. You travel to tatooine (different map) find target and complete the objective for the swoop or allow the target to escape. If you allow the target to escape you will be approached by a party (being rebel, jedi, ect) who offers you options to join thier group, depending on the mission or offers you job in exchange for a weapon, ect. The bottom line is as you progress through the mod, you will move toward a certain group and gain certain weapons, force powers, and vehicles to complete other missions. By the end of the mod, depending on the choices you make, you will either be a solo bounty hunter, part of a bounty hunter clan, a jedi, a rebel, an imperial, a sith, or just retire.

Special Notes-

-names of places/charecters are examples and are used for the expression of the idea and may not reflect aspects of the mod...for instance, at no point in time will ANY NPC be called "bob" :wink:

-flow of the mod, maps used, npc's used, ect will be determined by the group designing this mod. I will throw out the idea and can contribute by minor scripting(weakest point), mapping, skinning/textures and sound. I cannot model, code or make complex scripts. I can also not complete this mod myself as I have tried making an SP TC mod myself and it takes TOO much time to be of any quality so if this mod appeals to you, let's start a team and make it a reality.

-99% of all material used in this mod can be found in base JA and if permission is granted, used from what is presented to the JA community (player models, weapons, vehicles) so everything do NOT need to be created from scratch. The other 1% of materials would be textures/skins,sounds/voice acting for cutscenes, maps and scripts. No coding would be necessary as JA SP source code is not released.

-This mod is possible and can be implemented as stated above...but only with the help of a team of like-minded individuals. The more people implemented, the faster it can be achived. I figure with the help of 2-3 mappers, a scripter, and a texturer/skinner, this mod can be produced, beta-tested and released in a month to 2 months depending on the speed of whch we can all work. These are who are needed:

-Mapper(definately needed)

-Texturer/skinner (for extras/eye candy)

-voice actor (increase quaility)

Optional crew includes:

-scripter(would GREATLY increase mod progression...ecspecially with cutscenes)

-modeller (for extras/eye candy)

-shader (for extras/eye candy)

What comes to accepting a job, you could simply make it so that the player has to "use" (with use button) the NPC after the job description cinematic during some limited time, like 10 seconds. If the player waits longer than that, the job description cinematic would just relaunch if the NPC was used, allowing the player to browse different missions from different NPCs.

Not a bad idea. I just figured that the npc would say something like: If you accept this job, meet me behind the cantina or at so and so's office. That way, what was previously a locked area would be opened after the npc contact and the npc could then supply additional weapons/info for the job. That way, the player does not accidentally accept the mission and encourages the player to explore other jobs also. But that is good and will consider it an option, thank you!

Cool! If we can atleast get another mapper, we can start plotting out the locations and brainstorming on specific ideas. Well if you want extra skinners I'll help though I'm better with the Jedi and Sith stuff IMO. If you want sample pics of skins I've made just PM me.
