is there anyway i can do because im gonna try to import the .xsi file from max 6 instead of 7 because it works better. i need to know if there is a plugin or script or something that allows me to export or save and open it in 3ds max 6. When i export as a .3ds file, it looses all the weighing i dont want to redo it again.
try saving it as a .max file and importing it.
that cant be done because it says its missing dlls when you click open, you cant import .max files in import.
It should. Gir sent me a .max file from six and I imported it into 7. It worked fine. Is your version Pirated or Illegal? That might be the case. All I know is, mine worked fine.

Bringing a 3ds max 7 file into 3ds max 6. (unless topic title is wrong) so its not what u did haruki, u can import 6 to 7 but not 7 to 6. i also tried it (i have 6) and it didn't work...
Hmm.. I'd ask someone with a bit more MAX Experience, like Gir, You'd be best asking him.

max is only backward compatable. you can bring anything from an early version into a later version. but because the later versions have new features, dll files etc. you cant do the same in reverse. its simply not designed to work that way. im afraid ull have to either work with max 7, or re-rig it through max 6. and i dont know why your having so many problems. i work with 7, and i rarely get any problems at all O_O
yo almighty, were have u been, u havent been answering any of my questions lately ( except this one). i need ur help man quickly. PLZ Forums are too slow .
