I'm recruiting anyone who can make cliffs (like those found in Yavin CTF). I can't make one for the life of me. I've tried but it just looks like a stupid wall with a jagged face sticking out. Anyone at all can help me, as long as it looks good. I'm not picky. I just want my map (first one I hope to release) to look really, really good. Also, can anyone point me towards the NPC creation thread. Basically, I want to make a few of the ships, like the X-Wing, TIE Fighter, etc. to be spawnable. And if anyone can explain how to make them spawn continuously after one has been destroyed, that info is helpful too!

Sorry about that... I meant to put not picky, but my keyboard didn't type it for some reason. I think it's because my browser froze up. And then (in my stupidity) I didn't check my post. If you look at the context, it doesn't fit that I'm picky. In the sentence before, you'll see I put "As long as it's good, I'll use it." And the sorry was something I thought I deleted but didn't. But, keyboard issues aside, I'll answer (or comment, depending on the question) the questions. #1 there is no information about the map you are making Sorry, I was in a hurry. I forgot completely about the description. Here it is: I'm trying to make a Space CTF map. There are two landing areas: on the Rebel's side, it is Yavin IV. On the Imperials, it is an ISD Hangar. I'll figure out the details more as I progress through, but I know that there will be three main areas: Yavin IV Landing Area, Imperial Star Destroyer, and Blank Space. I need the cliffs to cover up part of the map on Yavin IV, so I can use the sky textures. They need to be pretty high (I can fix height and length). I'll credit anyone who helps. And, if you want, you can playtest.

X-Wings and TIEs already have NPC files.

Only difference is, in-game you need to use /npc spawn vehicle instead of /npc spawn.

In Radiant, you can add them just like any other NPC. Just place the NPC_Vehicle entity in your map, and set the "NPC_Type" key to the name of the vehicle in the vehicles.dat file.

Example: npctype6ie.jpg

I'd give you a list of usable values for NPC_type, but they're easy enough to find anyway. Just locate the vehicles.dat file in your assets pk3s and open it in Notepad.


I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Yep, it works with all vehicles. You just have to find out what the name of the vehicle is in the vehicles.dat file.


I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
