Is there a way to disable the beam on the trip mine?

Even if you do it's not like you can use it in MP against others, only you or whoever else has the modified asset will no longer see it.
i belive you can get rid of it by messing with the effects asset on the trip mine
Yeah, there are effects out there that removes the beam, but MLG18 is indeed correct, it'd provide you no inherent advantage other than aesthetic.
Well, if you want to disable it on a certain map only, you can shader remap it... :)
just open up the effect files for trip mines.. (assets1\effects\tripmine) with notepad and delete everything related to laser.. lol
