Minimal power consumption, truth be told.

Why not just leave it on overnight when you compile? Surely you don't compile 365 days of the year.

well my google search didn't come up with a result so it seems like i'm gonna have to compile over night (i would still like to hear more about the separate state compile though if it's even possible)

Drop down your compile menu in Radiant, do a -bsp/-meta compile (I forget exactly what it's called) first, then one without that but with a -vis stage, then one with a -light stage of some sort.

i have been using Q3map2GUI all the time so i just have to uncheck the light and vis option in custom settings right? i'll make a quick test to see if it's works
