If you want to change the animation used for when the saber is ignited, rooting through animation.cfg might not be of much help - to my understading it's generally used for simply organising individual frames of animation into "sequences".

I believe the simpler way to accomplish your effect would be to add the following line to the .sab file entry/entries for the saber(s) you want to modify:

drawAnim {sequence name}

Naturally, you'd replace '{sequence name}' with the name of the animation sequence you want the game to play. There are three places you can acquire the sequence names - anims.h, BehavEd, and ModView. Personally, I'd go with ModView, since it allows you to preview the animation sequences.

Of course, theoretically you can use animation.cfg to make one sequence the same as a different sequence, but it's a little headache-inducing to do it that way. With the .sab file method, it's true that you have to do it for each saber entry individually, but it's really copy-and-paste, which is simpler in the long run.

The above method will also work in both SP and MP whereas modifying the sequence the game uses to ignite the sabers, since unless I'm mistaken sabers in MP don't play any animation when ignited unless the drawAnim parameter is present(?).

I'll take a look at the animation sequences later and see if I can find what you're looking for, but if the above method will work for whatever it is you're intending, then that's just all the better really.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

On the subject of changing saber animations, is there an easier way to change a saber stance than editing the animations themselves? can it be done in the .sab file like you just said?

Unfortunately there's no parameters for individual stances. The closest you've got is readyAnim, but that affects for all three combat styles.

Is there a way to bind multiple animations to drawAnim? Say for example drawAnim "BOTH_H7_S7_BL" "BOTH_A4__L__R" I have tried this but the game just displayed the first animation, not the second. If it is possible am I doing something wrong with the "" or {} marks?
