Hi again, Im using radiant to map, but i cant figure out how to work the clipper. When i go to make doors it always highlights the whole wall rather than the space i want. Ive tried looking at RichDiesal's, but its still no use. Can someone please help me out? and i apologise for being such a map noob. - Ðef
It works exactly like it should. You'll just have to use it like that. And if you are using the 3-point clipper, then you need to have that third point on a different level, as it was designed to make corners like this: If you want help on three-point cuts, look here for an excellent tutorial on them.
if you want to just make simple doorways just select an entire wall and use the clipper tool to make two points-one above the other. It will slice the entire wall in half, but don't worry. click Shift+Enter and it will keep both halves. Congratulations, you have just created the left side of your door. Press escape to deselect everything. Now select the right half of the wall and make two more points-one to the side of the other. Press shift+Enter again to keep both halves. This makes the top of your door. Now resize the lower-righthand piece of the wall to open it up into a doorway.
Hopefully by following this door tutorial you will be able to learn more about the clip tool. In the beginning just use 2 of the 3 points, don't worry about the 3rd point for now.
See the picture to see what it should look like right before you drag the door way open.
