Ok well, When I compile my map for a test it get THIS error: ************ ERROR ************ LoadPortals: couldn't read C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\base\maps\DC.prt :confused: Please help. I have a due date to get this map done =.=
Are you using Q3Map2GUI or a custom compile line? If so, I'll explain why. If not, I'm not entirely sure what's going on.
sounds like you're trying to save with gtk 1.4 on vista.
For some reason you get this error whenever you try to save normally. What you need to do is wait for your map to autosave, then copy and rename the autosave.map file to whatever you'd like your map to be called. Open that file and compile it. Should work fine. :)
It's the prt file that's missing, not the map file...is there a connection?
I'm sure it's to do with compiling options. Start with bsp meta and work your way up - that worked for me.

Yeah, when you try to save with 1.4 on vista, it doesn't write that correctly, so you always get the same error.
Are there leaks in the map? The BSP -meta compile will not write a portal file if there are leaks.
It can happend then too, if you try to save to -vis without -meta. If you want save it to -vis, you must to save to -meta before it.
