Hey, I recently was going too test my map, so i had to compile it, ive compiled maps before and they worked, but this time it read an error upon loading: Max_Patch_Planes. If any of you know what that means, or how to fix it please respond thanks....
your map has a patch that is too big or you have some geometry that is too complex. (too many verts for a certain mesh)
Well that could be, because theres massive sand dunes, but Darth Zappa's map was bigger and had more, so why should min screw up?
I don't know what map you're talking about but I guess he used brushes. There's a hill modifier in EasyGen you can use for the dunes but you could get compile problems if you cut down the divisions too much.
Sorry, for not being clear, BDC-Racing has like a million hills, and is bigger, i only have three hills in mine
That map uses brushes that have only one visible face. The only thing they had to wory about was brush count.
ERROR: MAX_PATCH_PLANES The visible brush face is being split too many times. Extra vertex points are created by q3map on visible face edges, where they are split by other visible face points (corners, or vertices). So if you have too many visible face points touching the edges of another face, that particular face will be split many times and have many vertex points.
