I couldnt find a thread on this, ive got a 3ds model and want to get it into jka. what must i do to get it into there?
Export it as MD3 with these plugins: - MD3 exporter for 3dsmax 6 - MD3 exporter for both 3dsmax 4 and 5 - MD3 exporter for milkshape is already supported, so there's no need to get a plugin.
If the model is an item like a weapon or something that a player\character can wield you have to open the md3 file with md3view, then export as GLM (always with md3view...)
will milkshape import a 3ds file, or must i convert it first?
do the parts of the character have to have specific names or anything like that? I know you have to with flightsim models.... Thanks!
r u sure. I've always thought you have to export as a xsi file, then use the assimilate program and convert it to glm. http://www3.sympatico.ca/psykopat/ thats the website I use, great tutorials.
You have to export as XSI if they're PLAYER MODELS. If he wants to "put them in JA" probably he meant map models...
