im editing a luke in 3d studio max 5. im pretty much self teaching my way through it. all i wanted to do was add a hip coat. ive done that and now i need to put bones back into the model. can anyone tell me in simple terms how to apply the mesh to a skeleton?
Apply the mesh a skin modifier.
There's a tutorial about it, read it.
where is the tutorial?
With the software
the tutorials are no good because their complex. i found a file online that has the bones for jk3 tagged and weighted. but when i choose to merge it with my skin it appears huge. so i shrink it to fit the skin. export the file as an md3 and convert it to a glm. then i tried to view it in modview and the file causes modview to error...what have i done wrong.
You're doing EVERYTHING wrong. You are to export to xsi and then compile it using Assimilate (it's there for a reason for crying out loud)
how do i get it into assimilate when its not a car file
File\add file and choose _humanoid.gla
First you need to put the model's root.xsi inside the _humanoid folder.
im getting code 12 errors...you think its because im not lining up the skin on the skeleton right?...btw youve been most helpful
People who have actually done it before would be more helpful ;)
