Yo ! This my last works for JK i think.

Made with Maya, and i have questions. :uhm: How i can rig that vehicles for JK ? With XSI ? With Obj Export for Max ? Secondly, I can animate the wheels in JK ?

I begin another vehicle now, the 2007 Camaro bumblebee, yeah i try to made all transformers movie autobot cars ! :p

Very nice! You can use Maya for the rigging and hierarcy, but you'll need XSI Mod Tool or 3ds Max to convert the files into .xsi format. Ask Noen Garuth about that, he made the Turks with Maya. To make the wheels move, you'll need to create some animations of them moving forward, backward, turning, moving slower, moving faster, basically all the animations that the Tauntaun has. I'm no expert on creating new animations, so I'd suggest to consult Lightninja on that.

EDIT: The JK vert limit for a single object is 1000, so take that into consideration before exporting. Any polygon without a smoothing group gets separated into an element, that could skyrocket the vert count.

sweet transformers god i loved those shows. I suggeset makeing the new animations and such insted of a swoop like vehicle just so it will act like a car

It'll take more than animations to do that. Support for land-based vehicles like cars and trucks would have to be coded in.

minilogoguy18 admins should toss these links in the sticky thread since i know of some other people using Maya.

I think the admins have got more important things to worry about, so I guess I'll do it. :clueless:


I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

i don't think it would require coding just look at the droidika and hellfire vehicle and the hellfire even has the rotating weals and it rolls around on the ground

If you notice, all of those mentioned are vehicles or objects that are using only one axis for rotation. A four wheeled vehicle would have two axis of rotation to deal with or an even more ambitious mod would take into account all four tires in which would be like turning jka into an entirely different game. It would definitely have to be coded. Your only other solution which would look really tacky would be to make the center of the vehicle the axis in which you would get clipping which wouldn't look good. I would move to source or to Quake wars to work on a mod like this.

Looks slick. Yeah, you cant have moving wheels but as many games do, just use blurring wheel texture/shader.
