there was a melee mod released by a modder named slice, dice,& mince and in this mods description it said debugmelee is enabled and when i played it using melee i was able to puch, kick and use all 3 grapple moves without typing in iknowkungfu or d_bugmelee. How did this modder do that ?
he put this in autoexec.cfg : seta helpusobi 1; seta debugmelee 1;
wait so where do i find this autoexec.cfg ?
It's more than likely packed inside the mod itself.
wait what do you mean by that ? are you saying it can only be found in the mod and not in the assets of the gamedata folder ?
ok i have a problem, i made my own autoexec.cfg file and added it to a .pk3 file i created and in that autoexec.cfg file i put helpusobi 1 and seta debugmelee 1 and when i started playing jka, in melee mode i was able to punch, kick, and grapple, now im asking what did i just do ? what was that creation i made ? what would it be classified as ? also what do these .cfg files do ?
.cfg is a configureing file for the game i guess...apparently, all it does is set cheats. its like the tfu push mod, it sets knockback up to 3000 using.cfg instead of having to put in a cheat.
oh so all it does is help with using cheats without having to type them in ?
Yes, exactly. I make myself an autoexec.cfg for a few mods I have, it's a really easy way to bind all the keys you want to bind in one easy file that the game will execute for you. I used to use a particular config that was made specifically for binds, but an autoexec.cfg basically does the same thing without all of that extra info that the bind config did. You can even set a particular model to use as a playermodel, how cool is that?
way cool, so you also tried the autoexec.cfg too huh ?
