I've noticed that many custom skins have icons that have the default background with them, such as this:

icondefaultdj6.jpg

I was wondering if the default backgrounds are available anywhere to download so I could use them for custom skins. Also, if anyone knows where the JK2 one is as well, that'd be nice.

Do a forum search, they were posted some time back.

You can probably find a dozen threads in these forums where people have posted those icon backgrounds. Go search for them.

Personally I don't see why you would want to use them. It only takes away from the "custom" feel of your skin or model by trying to disguise it as a default selectable appearance, in my opinion.

Y'know, it would have been better to encourage people to use the search function. That way, they learn to use the search function before asking any future questions.

Sorry. Thanks for all your help by pointing me in the right direction everyone.

Sorry to be a bother, but I've tried searching for the JK2 ones to no avail. Can anybody help?

Shao(I'm double posting only to get the attention of others, otherwise people might think the thread is no longer active.)

So basically, a bump? We no like bumping....

But, you had a valid question, so you get away with it. :)

Since the JK2 icons are basically just small areas clipped out of an in-game screenshot, there really aren't any backgrounds for them like there are for the Jedi Academy icons. :uhm:

Thanks for all your help. :)

Based on the readme, it looks like the author of the file made these, not Raven software. I can't seem to figure out how he did that. Having Photoshop myself, I can't imagine how he tore off a character from the background and managed to restore the white-patched area that would have been left to look so accurate. Any one have any idea how he did it? Since these are just jpgs, there aren't any layers involved so that really confuses me!

Euhm at first if you save a Photoshop thing with Layers as JPG and you open the JPG with photoshop you won't get layers... Also as I heared it correct the char is just cutted out... Ever heared of the Polygon selecting tools and Magic Wand... That's the way to do it :D
