On a saber, is it possible to add different blade effects to different saber tags? like if there are 4 tags, can there be 4 effect scripts for each one? I tried something like this, but didn't work: hitPersonEffect "saber/Blood.efx" hitPersonEffect2 "saber/MoreBlood.efx" hitPersonEffect3 "saber/LotsBlood.efx" hitPersonEffect4 "saber/SeaOfBlood.efx" I think I'm hopeless but if someone can say "yes" to my question..:bows:

I'm pretty sure you can. I'm not 100% sure on how to do it though. I think it would be something like this

hitPersonEffect "saber/blood.efx" bladeStyle2Start 1 hitPersonEffect2 "saber/MoreBlood.efx" bladeStyle3Start 1 hitPersonEffect3 "saber/LotsBlood.efx" bladeStyle4Start 1 hitPersonEffect4 "saber/SeaOfBlood.efx"

Also, are you the guy that did the Ifrit and Shiva? *Man am I gonna look stupid if I'm wrong*

hey thanks ShadowSteelDragon. I tried it on sab script. it didn't work but that "bladeStyle2Start 1" does seem to have something related with the 2nd tag. what it suppose to do? when I put "hitPersonEffect" and "hitPersonEffect2", only effect2 will appear. it seems to take over effect1's effect.:uhm: I did Ifrit and Shiva ye, and if I can work out this tag quest I can make a multi-colored fireballs.

The "bladeStyle2Start 1 is supposed to go above all the information that applies all to saber blade #2, I think. Everything for blade 2 would need to go under that. I'll see if I can figure out for sure just what to do.

I see, when I put "bladeStyle2Start 1", it will turn ON the 2nd saber blade even if I set it to "noBlade 1". so I tried put a "noBlade2 1" then the game doesn't reconize. ok then what if I put "bladeStyle2Start 0", the 2nd blade is still ON! also I get "WARNING: unknown keyword 'bladeStyle3Start 1'...". and "bladeEffect3.." doesn't work either. only "bladeEffect2" and "bladeStyle2Start 1" seem to exist. what's the secret:uhm:

Let me raphrase what I said earlier.

saberStyle2Start 2 (that should fix it) goes above all information that you want to apply only to the second blade. Everything above saberStyle2Start 2 will be applied to all saber blades. If anything conflicts between what is above and below saberStyle2Start 2, whatever is below saberStyle2Start 2 will override what is above saberStyle2Start 2 for the second blade.

example { name "blah blah blah" saberType "blah blah blah" saberModel "blah blah blah" numBlades 2 noWallMarks 1 noDlight 1 noBlade 1 noClashFlare 1 trailStyle 2 damageScale 1.5 bladeStyle2Start 2 noWallMarks2 1 noDlight2 1 noBlade2 1 noClashFlare2 1 trailStyle2 2 g2MarksShader2 "blah blah blah" g2WeaponMarkShader2 "blah blah blah" hit2Sound1 "blah blah blah" hit2Sound2 "blah blah blah" hit2Sound3 "blah blah blah" block2Sound1 "blah blah blah" block2Sound2 "blah blah blah" block2Sound3 "blah blah blah" bounce2Sound1 "blah blah blah" bounce2Sound2 "blah blah blah" bounce2Sound3 "blah blah blah" blockEffect2 "blah blah blah" hitPersonEffect2 "blah blah blah" hitOtherEffect2 "blah blah blah" noIdleEffect2 1 transitionDamage2 1 noManualDeactivate2 1 damageScale2 0.2 }

Ok Tobe_one for these to work:

Tobe_One;3460767hitPersonEffect "saber/Blood.efx" hitPersonEffect2 "saber/MoreBlood.efx" hitPersonEffect3 "saber/LotsBlood.efx" hitPersonEffect4 "saber/SeaOfBlood.efx"
The effects have to exist and none of them exist in the base JKA. You have to make the effects. The combination of your excellent 2D art and the Jedi Academy MP SDK, you can make you own Effect files with those names.

I would actually like to experiment with the .sab files further to get the effect that everytime you swing the weapon, bullets or a blaster bolt shoots out and damages an enemy with the same distance as a gun weapon type would.
Also, are you the guy that did the Ifrit and Shiva? *Man am I gonna look stupid if I'm wrong*

He is the guy that made those actually!

Actually along thoes same lines that'd be a quick fix for the punisher cross I'm working on (it's a gun that's erm.. a gigantic cross?) and just changing the animations wouldn't cut it.. and I've got it working as a saber, so making it shoot would win! In other news I've never been able to get the effect editing program to work.. I've done everything manually. It's really not that hard if you don't mind opening and closing JKA a few thousand times. :bawl:

hey thanks for helping. I thought I had it this time but no.. the effect part still doesn't work. but the others like when I put : bladeStyle2Start 2 noWallMarks2 1 noDlight2 1 noBlade2 1 noClashFlare2 1 trailStyle2 2 they actually changed the 2nd tag's behavior. and even that is a major break through for me, thanks a lot ShadowSteelDragon:bows: what I put on the effect's line is like that "hitPersonEffect2 "blah blah blah" can't think of other way to write that line.. hitpersonEffect"2" ? hitpersonEffect******2****** ?? hitpersonEffect ;D ;( 2 :3 :> ??? and don't worry Talonalus I have all 8 effect script ready for each tags. just need to let them out at the same time.. does everyone use Jedi Academy MP SDK? I happened to edit effects with notepad, and now I'm used to it..maybe I should try the soft sometime
