i've read somewhere before via a line in the worldspawn you can change the draw distance of JKA, now i also know this isn;t recomended on brush heavy maps, however i am looking for this since its a detail issue. the map in question is lightly brushed but the buildings are tall out of the view
I tried it once but it didn't seem to work. The draw distance of JA is pretty large though. If you are exceeding it, then it might be a good idea to try to shrink some things in the map.
That's just me though.
oh, god have I noticed it. It didn't draw anything after a certain point and replaced it with a HOM effect. There was a lot of stuff not being drawn, so I find it very useful. I make uber big maps, what can I say?
i mean i make something on the grid a building for outside say, and it won;t even draw the steeple or towers. sure my rainbow road map kept it drawing, since thats how it worked in the n64
Here, more detailed. Select any plain brush (not an entity or func_group like imported terrain), press n to bring up the worldspawn, and type for key, distancecull, and a number for the value. I must say, I just type a 1 and like, ten zeroes. I don't have time to see what works perfectly, and I don't have a brush intensive map anyway, so it doesn't matter. Also, read through the list of entites and things you can make them do in the information help box above the area that displays the spawnflags, and the name of the entity. For me, that info box only appears in 1.4. Stupid programming not compatible with my OS...mutter mutter.....
for battle over coruscant i put 65000 because the skybox is huuuuge ^^ the default value is 12000 btw ;)

Aaaaaahhahahaha, he shrunk it. :p
oddly that can;t be right, my map had default and i have it set to 8000 to show the the thing, but this is good news for me
