Can anyone make a reasonable dreadnaught model? I'm trying to map one, but for the life of me, I just CAN'T get it! I keep getting invalid planes - and that's BEFORE details. I think GTKRadiant is unable to do what I am asking it to do.

If anyone has one or thinks they can do one and wouldn't mind it being in a map submitted to jk3files.com, please let me know. (You would get credit for your work, of course.)

I'm looking for the outside shape of the ship, btw. Here are some screenshots I found on google images to illustrate:

If you could help, I would be uber grateful. I just can't get this thing!! >:[

(Waits hoping for a response but not expecting one, lol)

I'm not sure if I know what you mean, maybe I'm stupid, but there is a big map on jk3files: http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/Imperial_Dreadnaught_Final_v_13;42899 And inside the map, there is a hangar wit a lambda shuttle. When you enter that shuttle, it teleports to "space", and you see a miniature of dreadnaught. Maybe you could... er, cut it out of the map with Radiant. Well, I don't have a clue about mapping. I'm also aware of an option in Lugormod, where you can add entities to map during the game. Among them is a Dreadnaught miniature. It's very small. I don't know where those entities are stored or something, but sure they don't come from nowhere. Well, I hope I helped you at least a little bit.

the dreadnought is already in the games assets and its a pretty decent model even up close, its a map object so you might wanna look in map_objects/byss/ for the model.

I said model, but actually I'm looking for one made out of brushes :). As in, made of brushes so I can do CSG subtract operations and hollowing and other stuff to make it fit and work with what I already have made of the interior. You can't do that to a misc_model. :] And by the way, I don't see a dreadnaught model in the byss folder. Am I missing something? I know about the MAP, yes, but I'm talking about making a whole NEW inside of the dreadnaught and keeping the outside the same.

Lol, when I saw this thread I thought you meant the Mandator Star Dreadnaught, like the Pride Of The Core. A ship that size couldn't possibly be rendered by JA, lol.

But neways, it isn't actualy as a model in JA, the Dreagnaught you are referring to was made of brushes, the textures of which are in Byss texture pack. But, looking at the pictures, that's not the type of Dreadnaught you were referring to.

It was Admiral John Fisher, the First Sea Lord, was the driving-force behind the development of the Dreadnought that was built at Portsmouth Dockyard between October 1905 and December 1906. The Dreadnought was the most heavily-armed ship in history. She had ten 12-inch guns (305 mm), whereas the previous record was four 12-inch guns. The gun turrets were situated higher than user and so facilitated more accurate long-distance fire. In addition to her 12-inch guns, the Dreadnought also had twenty-four 3-inch guns (76 mm) and five torpedo tubes below water. In the waterline section of her hull, the Dreadnought was armoured by plates 28 cm thick.

ok i got this one question: why do u want the outside if it is an inside map? (the moddels is way too small to contain a decent launch hangar and if u are refering to the large one it is way to big for jka. so i don't see the need in this.
