I tried the line that toggles the rider and from what I gather, the vehicle types that don't usually show the rider place him in a saber stance. And one can make the swoop touch the ground, if they move it low enough on the z-axis. I tried it with the Midgar bikes and while the result isn't great or even good, it's better than flying bikes.
AtrusinoI'd be interested in trying to rewrite the swoop code if someone can point me in the right direction.. I have to leave for school, but if you guys are ok with ti I'll start workin on it when I get home tonight...
You really have no idea what you're getting into, do you? The game's code is a complete mess, if I recall correctly and unless you're incredibly skilled in the ways of coding, you're in for quite a ride.

Haha, pun. get it, its a racing mod, "you're in for quite a ride" lol. Anyway, coding isn't an impossible task. You can certainly find some good c++ tutorials, and find a forum or two where you can get help from other coders. I wouldn't go for rewriting the swoop however, because their speed and turning speed aren't very... car like. Seeing as you are new to coding, you could probably take an easier route- create a swoop or another already available vehicle type racing mod. I really don't think that coding the vehicles would be as vital as coding the actual races-- ie: starting, finishing places, etc, which would be new and neat enough for me at least. I know I'd download that :)
This dead? :(
I would assume so, considering the topic's 1.5 year old.
