Yeah, I thought I'd give it a try. How hard could it be, right? I thought I'd practice on the assault gunboat, since it was one of my favorite fighters from X-wing vs. TIE Fighter and X-wing Alliance. I'm still finishing up the model, but it's really late so I thought I'd share before I quit for the night. attachment.php?attachmentid=38600&stc=1 Throw your suggestions my way while I sleep in til noon tomorrow

It's looking mighty ace so far. Should look even better once she's got some texture on 'er. winkx.gif I myself tried to delve into shipmaking recently, but it turned out lousy and I gave up in frustration. yeltongue.gif

From looking at this reference, I can tell that the cockpit and center of the chassis should be alot thinner. Also, the flaps along the top wing should be longer and at a steeper angle.

Still looks great though :D.

What's the point of sleeping in?... Umm, well I never played any of the X Wing games, so I can't say much. But it does remind me of the Lamboda shuttle from Return of the Jedi. Which, incidently, has the evil ewoks that are aggravating. Why didn't the empire just send in a couple of battalions in to wipe them out as soon as they landed on the planet?

I'm working off of the XWAUpgrade version, and I'm also adding my own personal touches, so it's not going to look 100% like any particular image out there. The XWAUpgrade version of the assault gunboat is much nicer than the original models, however, which is why I chose it. It also has much nicer reference pictures. attachment.php?attachmentid=38616&stc=1attachment.php?attachmentid=38617&stc=1

It looks pretty accurate comparing it to the reference you sent me yesterday , but there are just a few details to improve, for example as Haruki mentioned, the flaps should be longer and the cockpit as well, the body seems to be smooth on the reference pic, also it seems that you separated the cockpit section from the back section of the body, it looks better that way, but if you want it to be like the ship on the reference, it should not be separated (maybe it is separated on the actual ship, but since I have not seen it before...)

EDIT: Oh I just noticed the pic you just posted, it is separated =p
